I am taking a small break from GTS, mainly due to work at the moment, but also because i am going
away for a short while at the end of November. Thank you everyone for all your love shown towards
Danny and myself. Speak to you all when i come back.

Love and God Bless.

Gail

'My beautiful, immortal son...of all the gifts you brought back to God...your happiness gift is the
one I miss the most.'

I am not sure why I decided to live near the sea, I only know when I decided, at the age of forty
and by then Danny Boy, you were no longer here with me. I went for my usual walk along the sand this
morning. It reminds me of you and your love of the beach and my own childhood. And I go when I feel
most lonely and in need of a song.

‘Mum,’ I heard you say today as I sat and closed my eyes and leaned against the big rock, ‘I
have a question.’

A wave crashed in with a roar, sending spray across my face. Inhaling the freshly-salted air, I
listened as the hissing foam boiled about briefly before slowly draining out again. Thousands upon
thousands of cobble stones were displaced by the flow, and they rolled with the water, clapping
against each other like a distant cheering crowd. It raised in pitch until another wave thudded
against the shore.

‘What's your question, Danny?’ I whispered…

‘How does a person hear God?’ You asked.

I gazed down the stretch of beach, all the way to the harbour, to the little boats bobbing about on
the choppy water. This little Eden, my paradise, my place of peace…where the song of the sea has
provided solace and comfort throughout the two years since your death.

I smiled and I could almost feel your breath on my face. ‘I think’ I said softly, ‘you have to
choose your moment and really, really listen.’

Another wave broke against the boulders, and the roar filled my ears and I inhaled the salty spray
again.

'Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart,
E'en as the morn on the streamlet and sea;
Then will all clouds of sorrow depart,
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me...'

Foster

Love you, always and forever.

mum.
